Little Tuesday Went Home to be with God

I don't know if anyone read my previous post asking for prayers for a little girl named Tuesday. Tuesday Fiona Whitt (age 2) lost her battle with cancer yesterday and went home to be with God. My heart is absolutely shattered right now for this little girl and her family. Please pray that her siblings (ages 7, 5, and her twin sister age 2) aren't scared for their sister, that they can understand that God took her to the most beautiful home to live with Him. Please pray for her parents. That they can find some peace and comfort knowing that their precious baby girl is no longer in pain and that they will see her again someday. Pray for this entire family. If you feel comfortable doing so, I urge you to visit their blog and leave a comment for them so they can see how many people are praying for them and maybe be able to feel everyone holding them up right now.

Update on Prayer Babies...and One Addition

I thought I would give an update to those of you who are praying for Harper and Brayden (the babies I posted about here). Both babies are doing so much better. If you haven't had the chance to check out their progress, go to their mommies' blogs. Both are off ventilators and working on eating from bottles. God has definitely been seen at work in these 2 babies. Hopefully both babies will be able to go home over the next week or two. God is Good!

Now for one more prayer request that I read about through another blog. It's a story about a little girl named Tuesday who is 2 and was diagnosed with cancer last year. The type of cancer she has is very aggressive and becomes immune to chemo treatments rather quickly. The family was holding on to some great news from a good scan last week when she became very ill and was taken back to the hospital only to find out that her tumor has doubled in size in less than a week. This family is having a very difficult time. Go check out their blog for the story. Please keep them in your prayers.

All of this is a constant reminder of how lucky we are to have such a healthy boy. And we have our fair share of "difficult" moments, but hearing things like this really puts things into perspective. Suddenly our "difficult" moments aren't so bad at all.

Tunnels and Owie BooBoo's

Jarred got some tents for xmas and he loves it when we get them out for him to play in. They are huge when put together...so huge that they take up most of our living room. Even the kitties love playing in the tents.

About 20 minutes after I dropped Jarred off at daycare today I got a phone call that went like this:

"Hi, this is Miss 'D'. Jarred was standing on a toy and fell off when he was trying to step off of it. When he fell he hit the bridge of his nose on a bookshelf. It's swollen and bruised so his face looks weird. But he's ok."

Just lovely! Apparently it the cut only bled for 5 min or so but he has a nice swollen, black and blue bruise right in between his eyes. As soon as I got there to pick him up this afternoon he ran over to me and said "Boo boo owie". How do you know if a nose is broken? Do they even do anything if his nose is broken? My poor baby :( (please, pardon the Spaghettios on his face)

Happy Birthday and Randomness

I have been doing a horrible job keeping this updated lately. Sorry. Not much has really been going on. We've just been going with the flow lately. Jarred is starting to string 3 or 4 words together into semi-sentences lately which is lots of fun. We were getting ready to leave for daycare one day last week and he stood in the doorway of the garage, turned and looked at Dan in the kitchen and said "Let's go Daddy right now!" I guess he's heard that one before :) He also makes us laugh hysterically when he says fire truck (which essentially sounds like he is using the f-bomb 2 times in a row). Oh well. I had a good birthday weekend last weekend. My last year to enjoy it before I'm old. Of course I don't have any pics of the weekend because it was Dan's job to take them and well, need I say more? :) (I love you, Dan) On Saturday, Dan's family came up to celebrate with cake over lunch and then Dan's parents kept J for us so we could enjoy dinner by ourselves. We ate at a good Mexican restaurant near us. Thanks Mom and Dad Housten! Then on Sunday we met my parents, siblings, and grandparents for lunch. J had off school on Monday and Dan had off work so I took the day off with my boys. Jarred's card was so cute. It was a recordable card and he said "Happy Birthday" in it. I had a great birthday! Thanks everyone! Here are some random pics over the last couple of weeks.

My handsome boy

Our one cat loves to lay on the overhang in the living room. She makes me so nervous, but the more kitty hanging off the edge the happier she is I think.

We have no idea what was making Jarred laugh so hard in this video. I guess it was an inside joke.

Here's my bday card from Jarred.

Calling all Prayer Warriors

I apologize for not posting in a while. Things have been pretty hectic around here. I will update the blog soon. However, today I am calling on all of you to pray once again. Two of the families on the blogs I read need your prayers.

The first family is Jenna, Chris and their new baby boy Brayden (click here for thier blog). Brayden was born last week with fluid in his lungs. It is a condition called PPHN (pulminary hypertension). This condition keeps oxygen from getting into his bloodstream like it is supposed to. He is currently in the NICU at the Little Rock Childrens Hospital.

The second family is Kelly, Scott and their new baby girl Harper (click here for their blog). Harper was born yesterday also with fluid filling her lungs. She was transported to a NICU in Tulsa and is going to be put on a heart/lung bypass machine to help her get some oxygen in her bloodstream.

Please pray for both of these families and for the medical staff at both of the hospitals. Pray for the speedy recovery of both of the new mommies so that they can go be with their special babies.

Hook 'Em! Happy New Year!

We just got back from our trip to Houston, TX to visit our friends Mike, Kim and Jaxon. We had an absolute blast! The weather was in the 60's and 70's the whole week which was great until we were on the plane home last night and were shocked back into the 30 degree reality we call home. With the new charges for baggage, we didn't want to have to check anymore bags than we absolutely needed too. After a lot of contemplation, we decided that we would just get a carseat in TX for Jarred instead of lug one through the airport. Mike and Kim were so great to help us out any way that we needed (help with the tickets, a place to stay, getting us a carseat for the week, letting Jarred sleep in Jaxon's pack'n'play, driving us everywhere in 2 cars because there were too many people for 1, and just putting up with us for the week and much more). We owe them big time! We ended up only checking one bag for all 3 of us which was 1 pound under the weight limit for extra charge. I am pretty proud of our packing skills. I am such a bad mommy that I didn't get any pics of him and his first airplane ride. Jarred loved the airplane rides and stayed awake for most of the ride both going there and coming home. He rode on our laps which was a little hairy at times, but overall he was a good boy.

We ate all of our favorite foods. Mike and Kim took us to eat some excellent Mexican food. Jarred now things that chips, salsa and queso are supposed to come with every meal :) They have a nice massage place by their house so I was able to get a very much needed hour massage. They threw a party at their house on New Years Eve which was so much fun! We met a lot of very nice people at the party. Mike made a punch bowl of Hurricane's which were very good yet not so good in the belly the next day. Once the evening got started, a few of the boys went out in pursuit of fireworks to set off since they aren't illegal in TX. Let me tell you, they hit the jackpot in fireworks. The got $450 worth of fireworks for $150! Here are some pics of the evening.

New Years Day was a slow, relaxing day. Everyone dressed up in their Penn State gear though it didn't seem to do any good with that sad game. Oh well.

Here are some other random pics of the week.
Mav and Madison (Jarred loved these doggies! He made sure he knew where they were at all times and even gave them a big kiss goodbye.)

Madison

Jaxon (He is so adorable and well behaved! I only heard him cry twice the whole week! He loved watching Jarred sing and dance. I think Jarred loved the fact that Jaxon would laugh when he acted silly.)

We had such a great time and were so glad we got to see Mike and Kim again and meet baby Jaxon. Mike and Kim, thank you so much for everything! We hope we get to see you guys again soon!
